About the project

This study aimed to determine the current level of government support for reducing tobacco use to <5% of the state population, also known as an endgame campaign, with the goal of making Western Australia a ‘smoke-free’ state by 2030.

The objectives are to:

1. Determine the attitudes of Western Australian parliamentarians toward tobacco smoking and e-cigarettes.

2. Determine the level of support of Western Australian parliamentarians for further restricting sales of tobacco products.

3. Determine Western Australian parliamentarians’ perceptions of the outcomes of the introduction of an endgame plan that would make Western Australia a smoke-free state by 2030.
